Mrs. Hernandez came to Sam Houston in the fall off 2022 after spending her first 7 years in West Texas teaching all levels of band and music.  She grew up in Central Texas, and is excited to be living in the DFW area.

Mrs. Hernandez is a flutist and woodwind specialist.  She directs the Symphonic Band and instructs the beginning woodwind classes, as well as assists with the Wind Ensemble.

Mrs. Hernandez' husband is the Associate Director/Director of Percussive Studies at North Garland High School.  They enjoy spending time with their many pets, as well as trying new restaurants and other fun experiences in the area.
